The 2019 College Football America Yearbook is out now at Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com and provides a preview for more than 900 college football teams and more than 90 college football conferences.

For the next several days we’re providing excerpts from our FBS conference previews.

Today you’ll find an excerpt from our American Athletic Conference preview below, written by Matthew Postins:

By returning to Houston, Holgorsen became the highest-paid football coach among Group of 5 schools at $4 million per year. By luring Holgorsen to one of the nation’s most fertile recruiting grounds, the athletic program hopes that Holgorsen’s system will get more 4- and 5-star recruits to stay in Houston (the Cougars have only lured one 5-star recruit to date, former defensive tackle Ed Oliver).

If Houston hopes to, one day, join a Power 5 conference, or even crash the College Football Playoff, the Cougars now believe they have the coach that can accomplish it.

Now, Holgorson has to prove it.

Need more? Postins delves into what Houston has coming back, especially on offense, and which teams have the goods to try and end UCF’s two-year reign at the top of the league. Of course, the Knights have plenty coming back under second-year coach Josh Heupel and Postins gets into that, too.

The American Athletic Conference preview includes all 2018 results, all 2019 schedules, a 2019 conference Starting Lineup, a Gameday Experience recap of SMU’s Ford Stadium and photos of each stadium from our travels around the conference.

The 2019 College Football America Yearbook features more than 930 college football teams from the United States and Canada in more than 250 striking, full-color pages. That includes every team from the NCAA (FBS, FCS, Division II and Division III), NAIA, NJCAA, CCCAA and U Sports (Canada). It also includes updates on club football, one-year postgraduate prep/sports academies and Mexican college football, along with dozens of action shots and stadium photos taken by the CFAY staff.

The print edition is available online via Amazon.com and other major retailers such as Barnes & Noble and Books-A-Million.
